Over the course of our first week in Cuba, we had several great opportunities to visit the sights of Havana. In addition to the many (many!) tributes to the Revolution (more on that later!).
We got to experience the incredible contrast of the amazing mix of historic architectures, colors, and styles that reflect the mix of Cuba’s colonial tradition, in buildings standing side-by-side with crumbling facades and deteriorating buildings that reflect the country’s lack of resources and poverty.
At the same time, the city is regularly buzzing with energy, with live music in almost every square, a mix of people, cars, bicycle taxis, and carts filling the streets.
